SHIFT

SHIFT is a non-profit organization that distributes educational tools to young organizers who want to take action on issues that matter to them. They offer workshops, mentorships, and resources to help young organizers develop their local campaigns outside their immediate circles.

I’ve been working as an art director and illustrator for SHIFT since 2022. As a consultant, I was tasked to expand its branding and world-building through elements and character designs. Since 2020, SHIFT’s models have been distributed across 20 countries through the support of Save the Children. Since then, they have also developed numerous tools that are universal and accessible to children. The challenge is to make them universal, fun, and exciting because these materials are often translated into different languages.

These are some selected work I have collaborated with the small creative team.

Youth-Led Storytelling Training Booklet

Inserted in the booklet is a small foldable zine that helps you jumpstart a brainstorming activity. We wanted to make it detachable so it could be passed around in the middle of a session.

We also inserted detachable perforated cards that mimic a card game. One card serves as a jump point from one idea to another. Its purpose is to remove the rigidness in ideation. The team may jumble the cards again to come up with more ideas.
